AE Christmas Choir Concert '11

Our choir is amazing!
They practice twice a week before school to prepare wonderful concerts for us.
I get to do breakfast duty in the mornings before school and I always love the days that the choir is practicing!  They make me want to sing along! :)
Thank you to all of our choir members and to our choir directors Mrs. Thibault and Mrs. Seamons.
They work very hard and it shows!
The Christmas concert was AWESOME!

(I wish I had the recording of them singing but it was lost when my computer's hard drive crashed. If anyone has a video of the concert and won't mind sharing, I'd be happy to include it on this blog.
Just contact the school.)

Here's some pictures of some of our amazing choir members:

Read-a-Thon

Our Read-a-thon was a huge success!

Thank you to all who participated!

A special thank you to all our volunteers who came to read with our students.

We even had the opportunity for our State Superintendent, Larry Shumway; Provo School District Superintendent, Randy Merrill; and Provo's Mayor, John Curtis come and read to some of our lucky students.

What a fun event!

Veteran's Day Assembly

We had our annual Veteran's Day assembly on November 11th.
It was a great opportunity to honor some of the brave men and women who have served our country.

The 2nd grade sang a song and also our Amelia Earhart Choir.  We were also honored to have a World War II veteran speak to us. It was a great assembly.

We are so grateful to our Veterans!

6th Grade -- "King Toot's" Funeral Procession

Our 6th graders have been studying Egyptian History in Social Studies. One of the things they learned about the funeral procession of King Tut and so they worked on a mock funeral procession--one that might have been similar to King Tut's-- for a pretend king, "King Toot".
After the Halloween parade, they had the funeral procession of "King Toot".  They had made a colorful chariot and Mr. Jeppesen played the part of King Toot while the students pushed him through the halls, chanting and crying. The other classes lined the halls to watch.

Well done, 6th graders and teachers!

Our third graders had some special visitors come from
          The Living Planet Aquarium

They learned all about the different animal life that live in the rainforests.  Look at some of the fun things they got to see...
